Teens: are you interested in learning how the April NCAA Men and Women’s National Basketball championships connect with regenerative medicine?

Participants will learn RM strategies for athletes and engage in a range of hands-on activities like getting an up close view of connective tissues under microscopes with the help of WFIRM histology experts. Students and will be challenged to use RM approaches to rebuild a healthy version of and repair whatever connective tissue is damaged in their athlete’s damaged connective and/or muscular tissue. The resources and materials needed for this activity will be provided by WFIRM. Groups will be challenged to build a structure that is as structurally accurate as possible. WFIRM experts will reinforce this activity with discussions about regenerative medicine and sports medicine and where the field is headed. This lesson will involve inquiry, collaboration, and problem solving. A full tour of the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine facilities will also be provided to all participants.
