ABOUT THIS EVENT
"Mother Nature is always one step ahead when it comes to beauty. She’s quite the artist." –Giovanna Fletcher
Celebrate the A in STEAM with a community Nature Art event. Gather with new friends and the Muddy Sneakers team as we collaborate with Mother Nature to create a brand new nature art installation. Inspired by nature artists like Andy Goldsworthy and Cornelia Konrads, we'll create a vision and work together to build a unique, all-nature creation to leave in the park for everyone to enjoy. What kind of magic will you make with leaves, flowers, vines, and friends?
Ready to get your sneakers muddy and create some beautiful nature art? Register here to join the community art adventure.
This event welcomes everyone ages 6 and up. Participants under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. For more details, see the registration form linked above.
Muddy Sneakers is an outdoor science education program that serves fifth-grade students attending public schools across North Carolina. Our Western (WNC) regional field office is located in Brevard, and our Piedmont (PNC) regional field office is located in Salisbury. We reach students attending public schools in the Eastern region of our state through Remote Partnerships. Our innovative program introduces students to essential 5th-grade science standards set by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction using hands-on, experiential teaching methods outdoors on public lands.
